Three apartment blocks are being built in the Böhl district in Wittenbach, south of the St. Konrad church centre. The 2,728 m2 development site offers space for 24 homes ranging in size from 2½ to 5½ rooms. The apartments are being sold under a leasehold agreement.
The municipality of Wittenbach held a design competition for the new residential development on Böhlstrasse. The 5,549 m2 lot is located below the Bruggwald forest and near the Peter and Paul Wildlife Park. A total of 2,728 m2 of the lot is available for the development. The Chrobelbach stream area will remain intact. The winning entry was the innovative project by Daniel Cavelti Architektur AG and Mettler Entwickler AG. If everything goes according to plan, the new apartments will be ready for occupancy in the summer of 2029.
The three modern buildings, which will be seamlessly integrated into the hillside, all feature terraces or balconies with views of the forest or Lake Constance. The variety of apartment types is designed to appeal to different target groups, creating a vibrant and diverse neighborhood. The basement level also features hobby rooms, some of which are flooded with natural light thanks to the hillside location. Access is via Böhlstrasse. The entrance to the underground parking garage, which has 30 parking spaces, is located on the eastern edge of the site.
The green spaces between the buildings will feature a variety of elements: seating areas, play fields, nature-inspired play structures, wild perennial beds, and species-rich meadows, as well as native flowering shrubs to provide privacy, creating an inviting living environment and promoting biodiversity. Sustainability is a key priority: the construction method relies on recycled concrete.
