«Areal Böhl»
residential project
Three apartment blocks are being built in the Böhl district in Wittenbach, south of the St. Konrad church centre. The 2,728 m2 development site offers space for 24 homes ranging in size from 2½ to 5½ rooms. The apartments are being sold under a leasehold agreement.
The municipality of Wittenbach organised a project competition for the new residential development on Böhlstrasse. The 5,549 m2 plot is located at the foot of the Bruggwald forest and close to the Peter & Paul wildlife park. Some 2,728 m2 of the plot are available for the development. The Chrobelbach area will remain. The innovative project proposed by Daniel Cavelti Architektur AG and Mettler Entwickler AG came out on top. If everything goes according to plan, the new apartments will be ready for occupation in autumn 2027.
The three modern buildings, which will be perfectly integrated into the hillside location, will all have terraces or balconies with views of the forest or Lake Constance. The variety of apartments is intended to appeal to different target groups in order to create a bustling and mixed neighbourhood. There are additional hobby rooms in the basement, which still enjoy generous amounts of daylight thanks to the hillside location. Access is via Böhlstrasse. The entrance to the underground car park with 30 parking spaces will be located on the eastern edge.
The green spaces between the buildings will be designed in a variety of ways: seating areas, play areas, near-natural play elements, wild shrub beds and species-rich meadows as well as native flowering shrubs as privacy screens create an inviting living environment and ensure biodiversity. Sustainability is a key issue: the construction will rely on recycled concrete.
