Effretikon is set to undergo a major change, spearheaded by Mettler Entwickler AG. With the acquisition of the plot in December 2019, we took a decisive step towards revitalising the centre of Effretikon.
A sustainable, architecturally exquisite high-rise building is planned to replace the existing property. In close cooperation with the municipality of Illnau-Effretikon, a new bus station is also being built on neighbouring land, which, together with the railway station, will become a lively transport hub. These projects are part of the master plan «Centre development of the railway station west site, Effretikon» («Zentrumsentwicklung Bahnhof West, Effretikon»), which envisages coordinated progress in the area to the west of the railway station.
The planned high-rise building in Effretikon will not only be an architectural highlight, but also a dynamic meeting place for the community. The two-storey base of the building will house a wide range of catering outlets with an inviting outdoor area. In addition, the upper floors offer space for service companies and apartments.
The newly designed Rosenwegplatz will be a particular gem: with lush, large-crowned trees, comfortable benches and a fountain, a space is taking shape here that will boost visitors’ well-being and will serve as a natural link to the future city garden. It is designed in accordance with the SIA Energy Efficiency Path, with a heat supply from geothermal probe heat pumps and the integration of solar cells in the façade. The result is a project that combines modern urban living with environmentally conscious construction in a unique way.
